Such is the form of mother Shailputri
Mother Shailputri's form is very calm and simple. Trishul in one hand of the mother and lotus in the other is adorning. Mother sits on the entire Himalayas riding on her bull named Nandi, hence Mother Shailputri is also known as Vrishorudha and Uma. This Taurus vehicle is the form of Shiva and Shailputri is also the protector of all wild animals. Mother Shailputri had pleased Lord Shiva only by doing severe penance. All those devotees come under Shailputri, who take refuge in the mountain king Himalaya for yoga, meditation and rituals. Mother always fulfills the wishes of her devotees and helps in awakening the Mooladhar Chakra of the seeker.

On the first day of Sharadiya Navratri, after getting up in Brahmamuhurta, wear clean clothes retired from bath and then clean the chowki with Ganges water and install the idol or photo of Maa Durga. Kalash is established with the whole family with rituals. After Ghat Sthapana, meditate on Maa Shailputri and take a vow of fasting.
Mata Shailputri is worshiped with Shodshopachar method. All rivers, pilgrimages and directions are invoked in their worship. After this, apply Kumkum and Akshat to the mother. After this offer white, yellow or red flowers to the mother. Light incense, lamps in front of the mother and light five desi ghee lamps. After this perform the Aarti of Mata and then recite Shailputri Mata ki Katha, Durga Chalisa, Durga Stuti or Durga Saptshati etc. After this, praise the mother along with the family and complete the worship by offering bhog. Do Mata's Aarti and meditate even in the evening.
Ghat installation time
Chaitra Navratri will start from 22 March 2023 till 30 March. Ghatasthapana is one of the important rituals during Navratri. It marks the beginning of the nine days of festivities. The scriptures have well defined rules and guidelines for performing Ghatasthapana during a fixed period at the beginning of Navratri. Ghatasthapana is an invocation of Goddess Shakti and doing it at wrong time can cause wrath of Goddess Shakti. Establishment of Ghat or Kalash should be done according to the auspicious time during Navratri. Ghat Sthapana falls on Pratipada Tithi in Chaitra Navratri and its auspicious time comes during Meena Lagna.
The most auspicious or auspicious time to perform Ghatasthapana is the first one third of the day when Pratipada is prevalent. If this time is not available due to some reasons, Ghatasthapana can be done in Abhijit Muhurta. It is advised to avoid Nakshatra Chitra and Vaidhriti Yoga during Ghatasthapana but it is not prohibited.
